Internal Communications Simplified

Backpack Internal Communications Simplified

We recently teamed up with 37signals, “Making collaboration productive and enjoyable for people every day.” We are using their Backpack® service to simplify our internal communications. They offer a few different services that are worth looking into if you run a business or organization.

“Backpack is an easy intranet for your business. Store, share, discuss, and archive everything that’s essential for your team. Safe and secure.”

They seem to be industry standard. So far we are very pleased with Backpack®.

Our Global Goals Pledge

GlobalGoals Our Global Goals Pledge

We have pledged to donate $1 from every Soccer Shots registration to Global Goals (, which will benefit the US Soccer Foundation.

The U.S. Soccer Foundation is working to ensure that children in underserved communities throughout the U.S. have easy and affordable access to quality soccer programs that support their physical and personal development. The U.S. Soccer Foundation’s programs are designed to keep kids active and healthy. They guide children away from negative influences by providing them with safe and healthy places to play after school – the most dangerous hours of the day. Players receive attention and support from caring mentors and coaches who work to ensure that they develop into healthy and successful young adults.

The new spring season kicks off next week at most schools. Register here, Thank you for signing your child up for Soccer Shots and for your support of the Global Goals campaign!

Your Local Playtime Authority

RedTri Your Local Playtime Authority

Red Tricycle is a website/newsletter that we recently came across.  They promote fun things to do with your little ones around the Los Angeles area. This week, they have a nice article about getting kids involved in sports. They point out that the stress should be on fun, rather than winning or scoring. They also note that soccer is the best first sport for a young person.

Soccer is the best sport for first-timers. All of the coaches we spoke with unanimously agreed, and Coach Rethmeier offers, “For preschool age toddlers (3-5 years) I recommend soccer. The game is physically simple and uses the legs and feet, where kids develop coordination first (from walking and running). Sports such as basketball and baseball require physical development of arms, hands and upper body.”

We, at Soccer Shots, believe soccer is a powerful vehicle for social change. That’s why this year we have pledged to raise funds and awareness for the U.S. Soccer Foundation – an organization working to ensure that children in underserved communities have easy and affordable access to safe playing surfaces and quality soccer programs that support their physical and personal development.

The Foundation is working to bring safe playing areas and the Soccer for Success model to economically disadvantaged communities nationwide. A portion of your child’s registration fee will go towards the effort.

Soccer Shots Global Goals is the philanthropic arm of Soccer Shots. Our mission is to provide opportunities to disadvantaged youth within the U.S. and around the world through soccer. Soccer Shots Global Goals is a 501 c 3 non-profit.
